About Ego Productions

Ego Productions is a small theater company located in Chicago and Portland, Oregon. The company produces solely new works. Some of its basic artistic tenets include:

• The needs of the audience are more important than the needs of the artist(s).
• Entertainment comes before any social or political messages.

The history of Ego Productions is a long and storied one. Unfortunately, most of the documented history of the company has either been lost, destroyed, or caught in legal entanglements. Ego Productions was founded close to the turn of the 20th century (possibly earlier) and has produced numerous shows over the past hundred years in various parts of the country (the latest of which are noted on the Production History page).
